@jonsnow Didn't California just pass a law to take effect in Jan 2027 that makes it mandatory gor the OS itself to verify the user's age? It really plays into this OS as a subscription game microslop is playing.

@NovemDecimal Interesting. So far we had romoured claims, rumoured disclaimers and nothing official from Microslop.

The release date is the least of the concerns and the rest just sounds like something Microslop would (and still might) do.

The 2nd article is from 2023 and only says that Windows "will not need subscription to *use* it". Nothing about "subscriptions for extra features"

Let's wait and see. Makes really no difference to me as I made a vow to never install Windows again

@3dpng @jonsnow That pattern ended nearly 20 years ago, when Windows 7 was their last good release. The pattern starting with XP has been good-bad-good-humiliating-bad-wtaf and now here we are looking at adding "omfg" to the list.

I'm fortunate enough to have a lifetime of skills that enabled me to jump into a lifeboat and sail far from this unholy, sloppy, Orwellian mess.
