    @tino Just get a carrd website, from your privacy policy paragraph you don't care about privacy ao I don't see any need to host it in the EU

    @humanhorseshoes I care very much about privacy, that's why I don't gather more info than necessary about clients or visitors to the website 🙂 Will have a look at carrd though, thanks!

      Nerd wanted!

      My hosting solution just sent me the "updated" invoice for next year and they are out of their fucking corporate minds. So rather than giving them more money, I was thinking it would be nice to pay some self-hosting hacker type (furry or not) and support weird and small rather than large and capitalist.

      I would need the following:
      - the fairly lightweight website orsom.eu reliably online (all html/CSS with a tiny bit of JavaScript, quite low traffic, okay just using FileZilla for access)
      - a couple of email addresses with 5-10 GB of storage (a webmail client would be a plus for emergencies, but just using Thunderbird and K9 is fine)
      - EU based (preferably) and better if you can send me an invoice

      Do you already have something similar for yourself and don't mind me tagging along for a few years until I have the time to set up self-hosting on my own? Let me know!

      Boosts appreciated ❤️

          @tino
          I run everything on my own, and I will not mind tagging you along. Servers are in Nuremberg, Germany, and my own email servers as well. Let me know and we can start a conversation.

          BTW, what is your budget? I can give you an invoice for what you use, and am happy to charge minimal tbvh.

            @tino bunny.net for static hosting, mailo.com for email (they are ugly but who cares, they support all protocols like caldav and have great "kids" account types that are locked down inboxes with allowlists).

            Both are EU

            For even easier static hosting: statichost.eu. He ain't furry but very much "nerd" 😉

                    @tino Here in France we have a growing network of small companies or not for profit groups providing that kind of services with a focus on affordability and privacy (your data is not for sale). The network itself is called CHATONS (an acronym that translates as "kittens"). You can look them up at www.chatons.org and find the ones providing the services you need.

                    It's an offshoot of a larger free software advocacy group called Framasoft.
