crews are out digging fiber today. I'm not sure if ATT is piggy-backing off of T-mobile's work, or if ATT is going to be coming here to run cables separately, but allegedly, by the end of the summer. t-mobile and att fiber will both be available.

@da_667 Fill some water jugs. Back when I was working field utility work, they would rip and tear through water and sewer lines. They decided it was cheaper to take a chance than to pothole each one and avoid them. I made so much money in OT one Summer fixing their shit.

@cR0w city did a really good job of marking off all the gas, water and sewage lines in the area, but we'll see how badly they fuck this up.

@da_667 congrats! I made a similar switch late last year and it's been great. Better Internet for $20/mo less.

@bretthaines I'm paying 120 for comcast right now, even looking at 500up/down its like 50.00 a month. which is pretty crazy.

@da_667 The locates are good for liability but at least out here, they wouldn't pothole the water and sewer. They would either hope they missed it or hope the locate was off. They were careful with power and gas though. Go figure.

I'm just happy I fixed this whoopsie so I can continue my hunt for fiber in my neighborhood.

Custom Hydraulic hoses are not cheap. Hose protection is cheap, I should probably look in to that.

Frontier is putting fiber in around here, and I swear this describes their guys to a tee. Any time in the past few months I've heard someone local complain about an outage (be it internet or water), the answer to, "Oh, is Frontier working in your area?" has been, "Yes."
