Ohhh, man... I've been putting my pennies from gifts and such aside when I can in hopes I could get a #steamdeck for myself. I was nearing having enough for the OLED 512GB version and being okay with the fact that everything was out of stock for the time being. Only to receive the news yesterday that the deck is now CAD $1129 and $1349 (512GB/1TB models). Sigh and slow blink. If I didn't have enough hate for the world right now with it's AI BS affecting everything good...

@hush404 yeahhhh the value proposition just isn't there anymore at those prices. You could build a better am4 based PC or steambox for $1200CAD, even with RAM and SSD costing what they cost....
Unless mobility is critical and crucial to your use-case it's just not worth it

@clutch_lever Yeah, the portable nature of the deck is what I want from it. Just doesn't make sense at that cost.
