PATRIOT FAILURE — 3 MISSILES MISS IRANIAN TARGET AT AL UDEID

Three Patriot surface-to-air missiles failed to intercept an incoming Iranian ballistic missile targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, according to initial reports. Al Udeid hosts US Central Command's forward headquarters, thousands of American personnel, and extensive air operations infrastructure.

The Patriot system is designed specifically to intercept ballistic missiles. Three consecutive failures raise serious questions about system effectiveness against current Iranian missile technology, potential countermeasures or maneuverability of incoming threats, readiness or training of battery crews, and gaps in radar coverage or engagement doctrine.

This follows reports that 18 THAAD and Patriot systems failed to stop strikes on Tel Aviv earlier in the conflict.
