@dansup @kdekooter@moralapostel @anatolegc @kdekooter How is an AR filter harmful, when you don't need to even finish uploading the video to Loops, you can literally record a video then save it and share it to a specific person outside of Loops.
It's not that different from editing a photo and sharing it. That happens a lot. Where is the harm?

They should belong to the people.
You might not use them, does that mean nobody should too? Even if we build an ethical implementation?

There is literally no difference if you edit a photo to add a filter or overlay text/stickers.
I really don't understand why you are calling this stupid and childish, its just a fun feature, and one that isn't required.

This is just a fun way to add some flair to your video, we only have a few filters like sunglasses and dog ears, I don't see the harm in that.

AR =/= AI. We've had AR filters as long as Snapchat has existed and it was always done on-device. Without that goofy dog filter I probably wouldn't be with my partner of seven years. Those were simpler times.

@dansup Well, it's an opinion that I'm expressing here. No more, no less. I may have a different aesthetic sensibility, and I also think that trying to copy addictive platforms is not the right way to go. That's how one thing will lead to another in the future... that's my concern.

@kdekooter @dansup @moralapostel @anatolegc Viewers should have a toggle to enable or disable AR effects on each video. We need to fight trickery and combat disinformation. Insta-bans for anyone trying to hide their acne!

Why do you consider them psychological tricks?(I agree on the stupid, childish and tastless part, but this is so extremely subjective that I myself wouldn't care what I say in this regard. People should be allowed to have fun with some stupid, tasteless and childish fun.)
