    @blp didn't grow up in the US, but when feeling peckish around four in the afternoon I grab a spoon full of the stuff (only containing peanuts).

      @blp Oh love #Pindakaas the non-sugar one. I always have a big jar of the stuff in the house. Also good ingredient for #pindasaus (fry cut onions/garlic until glaze, add peanutbutter and sambal of choice. Stir well and don't overcook. Eat with everything)

        @blp I grew up in the U.S. and now live in Canada, where peanut butter is also quite beloved.

        When you go to certain restaurants, the little containers of jam and jelly on the table are also accompanied by ones of peanut butter, which I've never seen in the U.S.

          @bk2204 @blp These containers are also available in The Netherlands, although it's called #Pindakaas (Peanut cheese).

            @blp

            Ik hou erg van pindakaas, maar dan wel die gemaakt is van 100% pinda's.

            Als er bijvoorbeeld palmolie in zit of suiker/zoetmiddelen hoef ik die niet.

                @blp I think it's more likely that a person from the U.S. has *had* peanut butter, but in my limited experience, people I know outside the U.S. who have tried it tend to like it. Ex: Reese's peanut butter cups are popular abroad.

                Now, Root Beer is a different story. That one is much more likely to be something you like if you grew up with it.

                @kimlockhartga Peanut butter has been known in the Netherlands at least since 1944. So most of the population her has grown up with it. I eat it daily. @blp

                  @blp a modified proposal:

                  Only people who grew up in the US like US peanut butter.

                  @uep @blp

                  I like peanut butter, but JUST peanut butter, without salt or sugar or other crap added.
