@MLE_online I mourn the loss of batboy.
@Apiary oh my god, batboy was so dumb and fun. I never bought one of those magazines, but I enjoyed seeing the latest stupid cover story while my mom was paying for groceries
-
@tezoatlipoca @MLE_online how are these in any way comparable to what emily listed
@gigabecquerel @tezoatlipoca Thank you. Some people just can't help turning every conversation into politics for some reason
-
@MLE_online Have you seen this? I have not been but the website has some interesting stuff. https://cryptozoologymuseum.com/
@tmiller omg another reason to go to maine!

@MLE_online @Apiary the problem is that today Ed Anger would not be read as satire -- he'd blend right in

@tmiller @MLE_online I've been to that museum, twice! It's a ton of fun 🤩

We don't have any good mysteries these days. No UFOs, no bigfoot photos, no crop circles, no chupacabra. I miss the days of wacky mysteries.
@MLE_online This is reminding me, when I was a kid one of the big ones was cattle mutilations. Pretty sure I must have seen a half dozen "documentaries" about cattle mutilation over the years. They sure could squeeze a topic back in those days.

@vadhakara that one intersected aliens, chupacabras, and satanism. Those poor cows were taking it from all sides in the 90s

@MLE_online My favourite one was spontaneous human combustion.

@MLE_online Come to think of it, one of those docs is definitely where I learned about the Chupacabra for the first time. It was a suspect in the case. They actually had some guy from the University of Mexico on to talk about Chupacabra too. Or at least he claimed to be.

@robinhouston i was just talking to some friends about that a couple weeks ago

What happened to the Bermuda Triangle? It seems to have disappeared, which is kind of ironic.

@TwoClownsEating let's charter a boat and find out what's going on down there these days

@robinhouston @MLE_online That picture of the shoe (okay foot) by the heater is seared into my brain. As well as the carpet.

@MLE_online I got it as a Christmas or birthday present when I was 7 or 8. I became so obsessed with it that my mother confiscated it at one point.

@MLE_online @smellsofbikes it’s a dying art!
