We don't have any good mysteries these days.

@MLE_online This is reminding me, when I was a kid one of the big ones was cattle mutilations. Pretty sure I must have seen a half dozen "documentaries" about cattle mutilation over the years. They sure could squeeze a topic back in those days.
@MLE_online Come to think of it, one of those docs is definitely where I learned about the Chupacabra for the first time. It was a suspect in the case. They actually had some guy from the University of Mexico on to talk about Chupacabra too. Or at least he claimed to be.

@MLE_online My favourite one was spontaneous human combustion.
@robinhouston i was just talking to some friends about that a couple weeks ago

We don't have any good mysteries these days. No UFOs, no bigfoot photos, no crop circles, no chupacabra. I miss the days of wacky mysteries.
What happened to the Bermuda Triangle? It seems to have disappeared, which is kind of ironic.

@robinhouston @MLE_online That picture of the shoe (okay foot) by the heater is seared into my brain. As well as the carpet.

@MLE_online I got it as a Christmas or birthday present when I was 7 or 8. I became so obsessed with it that my mother confiscated it at one point.

@robinhouston @MLE_online I had a similar book, different cover but probably the same stuff inside, plus the Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World programmes on ITV on Sunday. My old man pointing at the telly saying "see, you don't know it all" or words to that effect.

Right. All we have today is 41% of our population believing that lies are the truth. -
