@MLE_online I got it as a Christmas or birthday present when I was 7 or 8. I became so obsessed with it that my mother confiscated it at one point.

@robinhouston @MLE_online I had a similar book, different cover but probably the same stuff inside, plus the Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World programmes on ITV on Sunday. My old man pointing at the telly saying "see, you don't know it all" or words to that effect.

One of my favorites was the "development" of the solid state transistor so quickly after the Roswell UFO thing.
