    If you use #NVDA 64 bit with #eloquence, v8 is out for you now. Here are the release notes. Written after just a single beer:
    Everything in this release is thanks to pbsinnett, a brand new contributor! This restores dash pauses, prevents the double dash stutter, and makes dictionary entries with dashes work in the community dictionaries. Note that you must have the dash symbol in NVDA's "Symbol pronunciation" configured to "Send actual symbol to synthesizer only below symbol's level." If you're still having issues, please check that setting.
    Do you want to be cool and amazing like pbsinnett is? Do you want to have your github username called out in these release notes? People who submit pull requests are up to seventy percent more attractive, according to statistics that I just made up! And these issues want your help:
    •
    #49: adding the shorten pauses feature from IBM TTS
    •
    #42: fixing unicode issues in the driver
    •
    #41: the mystery issue! Nobody knows what's wrong or how to fix it. Could you be the one?
    •
    #40: do you feel like going through the pitch setting code with a fine tooth comb? Because it's sloppy, and you will find bugs. Then you can stomp on them! Just think how satisfying it'll feel when you do.

    @fastfinge Does this work with portable versions without manually copying the .exe or is it still that way. Sorry if I'm wrong about this, I'm going by what I read on Mastodon.

      @serrebi You still have to copy the .exe. NVDA won't do it automatically for security reasons. It can't be fixed without changes from NVDA themselves.

        @fastfinge Ok that explains why the issue was closed then! Thanks.

              @ginsenshi It's there now. Github decided it was a virus and deleted the binary.

                @stevenscott @fastfinge Having not looked at this at all, I assume on the releases page will be an assets button under each release. Expand that and select the addon link.

                        @stevenscott Haha between us on the public Mastodon. I'm not worried about getting in trouble. I'm more worried about AMI or your podcast getting blowback from covering quote pirated unquote software if you mentioned it on the air. As far as I'm concerned, all blind people have purchased eloquence dozens of times over:
                        * in jaws
                        * in talks
                        * In Window Eyes
                        * in IBM Homepage Reader
                        * directly from code factory, when they were authorized to sell it
                        * from voxon, when they used to be the ones to sell it, before they lost the license and all users had to purchase it a second time from code factory
                        * it's on IOS
                        * purchasing it from code factory on 32-bit android
                        * purchasing it a second time from code factory on 64-bit android

                        I can't imagine a blind person who doesn't own eloquence many times over who would use my addon. You're almost certainly just using the thing you've already purchased many times. But the copyright overlords don't see it that way.
