@sgtgary the article spins it as mostly about concerns about Former US policies, but I suspect a significant number of the signers also have concerns about their personal safety and ability to enter the country.

@oddhack I would guess the concerns are more about the ability to leave the country again.

@sgtgary Good! And it's not the only conference - some already moved. Here in France, scientists are warned by their collegues to travel to the USA. And we have several official travel warnings for people in EU countries, too (e.g. if you are trans, how they handle your privacy etc.)

                        no, it don´t have to:
                        sin(x+a)
                        only if a = n*pi , where n is a whole number

I wonder if Terence Tao, probably the most prominent mathematician in the world, has said anything on this?

He was awfully quiet about the US regime cutting funding due to so-called "antisemitism" on campuses.

I did call him pout for complaining about the money, but ignoring the attacks on anti-genocide voices.

@oddhack I would guess the concerns are more about the ability to leave the country again.

yes, I would guess some signatories only care selfishly about their own safety and not about injustices and war crimes being carried out by the usa around the globe

@capeta @sgtgary It's because no one is apolitical. You can self-define yourself as apolitical, but sticking your head in the sand is a political message nonetheless

@provokingcats @sgtgary Not buying it. Sure, could do, but that is just a scummy old phase shifted cosine in disguise.

a sine by any other phase would sine as sweet 😉
