How come when people answer to a DM or also a CW why answers aren't automatically hidden or private by default.

Very impractical and super bad.
Could this be fixed in coming versions of Mastodon, like in the main code/protocol if there is one?

@AasaMariaHedberg In my experience, they are (mastodon web, fedilab app). But it is a client behavior, and there are lots of broken clients out there.

Same. Certainly in the Mastodon web UI, a reply post inherits the visibility setting of the post being replied to.
