Just in case anyone else thinks Summer is wearing a shock collar.

Yes, that was obviously someone who doesn't know you or Summer at all. I think blocking was a good idea.
I remember taking my first dog training class in the 1980's, and at that time, there was no punishing the dog for misbehavior at all.
I recall as a child seeing people swat at a dog, but never found it necessary. They learn better with positive reinforcement and loving connection. And you have a better relationship if it's not based on fear of punishment.
@FiddleSix
I used my grandkids training experience. Summer has been so easy she has never pottied in the house. I scooped her up and took her outside every time she ate, drank or woke up until she stayed alerting me to go out.
I never allowed her to jump on people or doors because that was my pet peeve.
Other than that we have just played it by ear. She is very smart and was born with lots of skills. -
@NorcalGma2 That's amazing! Does it have an internal battery or do you have to charge it or anything?
@Fanfalla
I charge it about once a week. -
@Fanfalla
I charge it about once a week.@NorcalGma2 Neat. That's a decent battery life.

Just in case anyone else thinks Summer is wearing a shock collar. She isn't.
She is a much loved dog and I would never let anyone use pain to train her.
She has had to train us and thankfully didn't need to use a shock collar.
I felt bad that someone would call me out for something so false.
I think she looks like a happy dog who is comfortable in her fur and collar and the knowledge that her housemates love her to the moon and back.

@NorcalGma2 Of *course* it's not a shock collar.
The only person who should feel bad is the one who suggested you'd be using such a thing. I found the account which posted that and blocked it.

Summer is a very smart girl, and she learned to love and trust you early on, and now you have a dog who will do anything for you, as long as she can understand what it is that you want.

@NorcalGma2 Ugh. I found that person and blocked him. Clearly, he knows nothing about you at all and never bothered to read anything before making that cruel and ignorant comment.

@NorcalGma2 anyone who would say that to you has zero information of your family from your posts here. They are just a random empty person looking on the internet for a coward's way to shoot at someone's beauty rather than look at their own pettiness. They decided to resent the love you three share so they went for a low yet stupid comment instead of taking in what you so generously share. I'm sorry.
