    @TheVinylApe I was stupidly lucky enough to see the man perform under a full moon at universal amphitheatre before they roofed it over.

    Waaaooooo

      @angiebaby ๐Ÿ˜‚
      Iโ€™ve lost track of how many maple leaf records I own.
      Far far too many.
      Probably over 1,000.

      Itโ€™s actually quite embarrassing.
      ๐Ÿ˜‚
      But I donโ€™t do heroin.
      So, you take the victories where you can.

      @TheVinylApe

      Canadian pressings in a lot of cases were superior to the US ones. Particularly singles, where a lot of labels in the States were cheaping out by pushing out injection-molded styrene records which would wear out after a minimal number of plays on the kind of turntables most teenagers had.

            @TheVinylApe Amazing moves!

            Besides the immaculate "Werewolves", my favorite Zevon song might be "Roland, the Headless Thompson Gunner" (either that or "Boom Boom Mancini").

                WARREN ZEVON
                Excitable Boy
                1978 Canada pressing

                The man, the myth, the legend gets last spin of the night.

                Truly one of the greatest songwriters to ever walk the Earth, and a flawless album front to back.
                Itโ€™s actually quite embarrassing.
                There isnโ€™t a song on this record thatโ€™s not great.
                Not GOODโ€ฆ
                GREAT.

                A true one of a kind talent the likes weโ€™ll never see or hear again.

                If youโ€™ve never seen it, go on YouTube and watch his final appearance on Letterman.
                Zevon was dying, and Dave gave him the WHOLE show that night.

                Even on deathโ€™s door, he performed immaculately, and in the interview was funny, self-deprecating and fully the Warren weโ€™ve always known.
                Itโ€™s a remarkable and incredibly emotional watch.

                Excitable boy, they all said.

                He sure was.

                Just the greatest.
