Looking at the pile of freshly washed fabric strips, I think I may have gone a bit overboard. They're not big pieces, but wow I have so much already cut up scrap from the old mock-ups and such, and it's either going to be one enormous quilt or two quilts... We'll see. πŸ˜…

I'm going to have to iron them and then lay them out nicely and stare at them very hard, to determine if I want to cut up all of them and just trust the process? Who knows.

It would be the least brain to just cut up everything, combine all the little pieces in a way that feels good, and then put blocks together as per the same until it's enough blanket. They're all going to be the same dimensions anyway, the blocks, so I even have a couple left over from Fifth Quilt I could put in. πŸ˜†

I know many quilters like trying out different patterns and whatever, but me? I've found one block shape I like, the economy block, and did the maths exactly once, and that's enough for me!

@sinituulia those fabrics look lovely for the economy block! I'm sure it'll be fun to combine the colors 😍

@catobelli Thank you! It's not a super imaginative block, but it's just nice to do and is probably a classic for a reason πŸ˜„

The blues are of course very pretty and I have a couple of teals and dark blues in the scrap bin already, but... Wow those warm tones they give me the serotonin

Have ironed and am cutting up the fabrics in order of having to consider it the least to having to think about it a bit. Even knowing how very many pieces a quilt eats up, it still looks like a great very many pieces, perhaps too many. Sure, I could and should have counted them, but... I simply did not want to.
We'll see how much regret that gives me later, but for sure am now enjoying not counting a damn thing!

@artcollisions It may be a little bit unwise, but the worst that happens is that I'm going to end up with extra blocks to do something else with! A win for no maths!

@sinituulia Well, that's a process that works for me. Sometimes I am able to use those extra blocks and sometimes friends get them πŸ˜„

Now that I've discovered small zippered pouches, I have another outlet for small scraps.

Fun fabrics! You may want a few more blues, to intersperse with the browns.
