    What's a good ad blocker for Chrome?

    [anyone suggesting I move to Chromium, Safari, or Mozilla will be summarily meme-d to death]

        @Tarah uBlock Origin Lite, made by the same dev that does the OG uBlock Origin. https://ublockorigin.com/

              @Tarah Go into the extension settings, ensure it's on at least Optimal for default.

              Some more granularity with other settings, including lists, and dev mode.

                @Tarah uBlock Origin Lite, paired with a DNS-level blocker

                    @Tarah I use EFF's Privacy Badger. Cookie blocker == AD blocker.

                      @Tarah @neurovagrant the author of uBO developed an MV3 compatible version that was able to retain many of the critical features. They have a handy FAQ that explains most of the functional differences:

                      Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

                      uBO Lite home (MV3). Contribute to uBlockOrigin/uBOL-home development by creating an account on GitHub.

                        @Tarah
                        My shortcut for launching Chrome has --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled on the cmdline, so all the good blockers still work.
                        At least for now. 😂

                          @Tarah

                          Personally, I eventually got used to FF because it has good extension and adblock support on Android.

                          Every mobile browser that isnt chrome does major UI overhauls every 12-18 months and that is never fun.
