uBlock Origin Lite isn't terrible. It's less capable than the Firefox version, but still meets the core need.

@Tarah uBlock Origin Lite, made by the same dev that does the OG uBlock Origin. https://ublockorigin.com/

@Tarah also i would be remiss if I didn't suggest adblocking through custom DNS

@neurovagrant go in how, precisely? ublock got neutered, I thought

@Tarah Go into the extension settings, ensure it's on at least Optimal for default.
Some more granularity with other settings, including lists, and dev mode.

@Tarah @neurovagrant the author of uBO developed an MV3 compatible version that was able to retain many of the critical features. They have a handy FAQ that explains most of the functional differences:

@Tarah
My shortcut for launching Chrome has--disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabledon the cmdline, so all the good blockers still work.
At least for now.

Personally, I eventually got used to FF because it has good extension and adblock support on Android.
Every mobile browser that isnt chrome does major UI overhauls every 12-18 months and that is never fun.
