#OTD 21 April 1917, Joseph Bradford Knapp, 21, married Effie Arvilla Crispen, 20, in Berrien County, Michigan. They had two children during a brief and troubled marriage. After divorcing, they each remarried. Effie was not nice to Joe and had quite a temper. In my possession is a damaged photo of her mother, my great-grandmother. It was hanging up in a large bubble frame. Effie tore it down off the wall and threw it on the floor, destroying the frame and putting a crack across the photo.
