@anon_opin so agree with this. Schools have got rid of the computer labs and given all the kids iPads instead. We have people coming into the workforce who have no idea about what a file or folder is.

Indeed; I run an engineering consultancy serving the broadcast world and am currently taking on people and I don’t believe anyone under the age of thirty can explain a network stack. -

@anon_opin I don’t think this is as age gated as you think it is.
I know plenty of IT folk in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s who have had long careers in IT and are still utterly confused when problems IN THEIR CURRENT FIELD OF EXPERTISE arise.
Just a general lack of problem solving skills. Beggars belief.
