It took me a loooong time to get on board with Rush.
I met my best friend Dan when we were 15, and the first conversation we ever had was based on him asking me “Do you like Rush, man?”

“No man. I don’t.”

“Why?”

“Too many lasers, dude.”

Dan and I would go on to play in what would end up the very first band either of us played in, and to this day, he remains my best friend.

Over the last 33 years, his belligerent soapboxing on behalf of his favorite band continues.
I don’t have the heart to tell him that he broke me about 20 years ago. I’m not giving that little bastard the satisfaction.

Neil Peart may be the greatest drummer ever. I will never argue that with anyone.

And although the band themselves are on record in saying that COS is their LEAST fave (debut aside), it’s def my favorite. It’s SO out there. Even for them.
