@amanjeev the ones built into browsers are probably the easiest to use and they're fineTM

@amanjeev if they’re on Mac/iOS the Passwords app is great.

          Anywhere else, 1Password.

@pollyglot @amanjeev the only downside to these is that not all your passwords are for websites and browsers password managers are generally not designed for that.

It’s a tougher question than it sounds because none of the password managers work all the time so you have to actually open it to go get a password, or they add “helpful” obfuscating tool tips and offers to create passwords every time they sense a form on a page.

There’s a lot of work to be done on usability in all of them, imo

@mick @amanjeev totally agree with this order. 1P is the least annoying of all so far.

@amanjeev I've used KeepassXC, Bitwarden and Proton Pass. Proton is my favorite, we're using a family plan which allows easy sharing of credentials. Proton supports a wide range of platforms and browsers and just works.

@amanjeev Which OS? Cloud or local?

For someone who has never used a password manager before, I would place solid web browser integration high on my list of requirements.
