This is one of the most disheartening threads I've read. This is what happens when you don't surround yourself with only accepting, inclusive-minded folk in Edmonton. This is why few ride in Edmonton, when simply riding brings on so much hatred and disgust from others. These are things decent people would never say to each other in person, except for the only 3 decent/helpful comments in the entire thread which I like reacted. I highlighted some of the more inflammatory comments in the extra pics.
Please, when you see people trying to do their part, surround them with love and acceptance.

@ned People talking about how "it's winter" and "there's snow, what do you expect?" as if the fact that the lanes where cars drive are clear of snow and ice is just somehow part of the natural order of things.
Of *course* cars get to drive! But bikes? They're some unnatural, newfangled contraption, I guess?
I'm not even a bicyclist, but the car-brain on display here is really blatant.

Yeah, I spent a good 6+weeks hearing almost nothing but driver after driver complaining about how bad the roads were and how hard done by they were because of it, while complaining about how the city spends to much money in the next breath. Sorry to say so many Edmontonians are thoughtless entitled pricks.
I do mostly drive, but rejoice every time our city invests in other options, hoping that the day will come that the city and my needs have changed enough that that can change.
