Is there a better place to find online role-playing groups as a beginner besides sites like startplaying?
The whole pay to play angle puts me off.

@glen_malley I would try the official Discords of the TTRPG-systems you want to play or of the VTT-systems that you wanna use (Foundry, Roll20, Fantasy Grounds ...).
