Been on-the-fence for years about getting solar panels. Needed to fix the roof first, which I did early this year. Now the solar panels were installed today.

Electric meter is running backwards, even on this very overcast day. I'm so excited about this. Finally feel like I'm doing something to help. #SolarPower #Okanagan #BC

@charette We’re net zero still, after ten years, in Portland OR. No regrets!

@charette Fascinating that you’re generating power today <looks outside>. That implies it will work right through the winter, even with the Okanagan cloud cover

@mike_bowler They do things like analyze the orientation of your roof, number of panels, etc, and tell you exactly how much power you'll generate in an average year. And we're lucky to have sun most of the year in West Kelowna.

According to what the estimate, I'll have to buy a bit of power from BC Hydro in the middle of winter when the sky is overcast. The rest of the year I should be generating more than I consume.

I went with Future West Solar in Kelowna, and I'm happy I did. Nice group of people. https://futurewestsolar.com/about-us/company/
