@quixoticgeek Socks by default, we have painted concrete floors downstairs that are cold and hard and the wood floors upstairs are less cold but also hard so i like a bit of padding. I'm pretty much never barefoot unless I'm sleeping or showering.
I own a pair of slippers i almost never use, they get too warm.
Outside shoes in the house is generally a no-no to avoid tracking in dirt, unless we're like making multiple trips to bring in groceries or something in which case we try nor to stray too far from the entryway until we get them off.
I have a dedicated pair of ESD safe safety-toe slip on lab shoes for my home lab that i wear when I'm moving heavy stuff around, working with chemicals, or doing other things that pose a risk of foot injury. These never leave the house to keep them clean.

Moccasins with or without socks. Most comfortable footwear for the home, in my humble opinion. -

It's under 40 fahrenheit before I voluntarily put on footwear.

I wear slip-on rubber sandals around the house. They're what college kids might call "shower shoes."
I'm not classifying them as house shoes or slippers--even though that's what my father calls them--because I feel like they're the kind of shoes that would be acceptable in some venues (such as at the beach or pool) outside the home.
