#Fairphone #Fairphone3 #Privacy #OpenSource @gael @murena@e_mydata @gael @murena now we only need 3rd party batteries...

Since #Fairphone is about to discontinue the #support for the #Fairphone3plus, I wounder if anyone is able and/or willing to build i.e. an adator backplate to chug like a 21700 or a pair of 18650s if not #LiFePO4 #batteries to it. - I kinda need a solution due to #DangerPillow syndrome…

@petitmote @Natanox @e_mydata weird indeed
@pixelcode @petitmote @Natanox @e_mydata well, #Fairphone did mail out that they #EoL #Firmware #Updates in August 2026.
-
@murena @jill @e_mydata @gael 6 years and 5 months. Without #blisslauncher
-
@sorenladegaard, I got the part about 2 years from day X, thank you

I am wondering about the actual _date_ or at least month + year
@hook @sorenladegaard @e_mydata @gael
We haven't set a specific date yet, but providing support beyond two years could pose a significant challenge both technically and in terms of the workload. -

But in any case it would be (cca.) in 2028 or which year? It's hard to keep track of all EOL and their extensions for a normal user/consumer

@kkarhan @pixelcode @petitmote @e_mydata The EU should force all hardware manufacturers to open-source their firmwares upon abandonment… not a criticism of Fairphone, but in this case I guess of Qualcomm.

@hook @sorenladegaard @e_mydata @gael Exactly, in 2028, but we'll surely share the information before it happens. Just stay tuned or subscribe to our newsletter to not miss any important announcements: https://newsletter.murena.io

@murena, thank you. This helps a lot.
Again, whatever the extension would be, it is very welcome and appreciated. It is merely a question about how to plan buying new hardware vs spare parts for FP3(+).

@Natanox @pixelcode @petitmote @e_mydata +9001%
If it was my decision, all #patents amd #copyrights would cease the moment #Software is abandoned, not maintained or not offered for #licensing and #suplort anymore.
