I applied to a handful of Canadian Universities as a transfer student this academic year to prove to myself (mostly, my younger self) that I could it.

I applied to a handful of Canadian Universities as a transfer student this academic year to prove to myself (mostly, my younger self) that I could do it.
I didn’t know if I would switch schools or if we could end up moving back to BC, so I threw my hat into the ring across western Canada.
The first acceptance letter arrived today - University of Victoria - my dream.
️
️ 🩵 I can’t accept it, but something about knowing I could go if I was able to heals part of my inner child that dealt with so much trauma trying to get through grade school as an undiagnosed autistic with learning disabilities 20-30 years ago. Time is healing

@action_jay maybe one day in the future!

@Cassandra No way we could move on a fall timeline, plus I’m currently out on medical withdrawal at my current Uni. Maybe one day though!
If we can save enough to move back and find housing. -

If we can save enough to move back and find housing.@britt Fingers crossed. At least now you know it's an option. Maybe they'd even defer your acceptance.

@mintiefresh thank you! Vic is one of my fav places. We lived up island for 8 years, and have also bounced around a few other places together. I’m also originally from the States. Ideally, I’d love to settle back there one day if life allows.

If we can save enough to move back and find housing.@britt @Cassandra Victoria is a beautiful city and where I would love to live. I’m a born and raised Albertan but I’m realizing more every day that I don’t belong here anymore. But! It is not a cheap place to live. I’m happy for your healing! That’s a great exercise! Knowing that I could accept, I wouldn’t apply but look at you! Great job! Inspiring!

@naga 🩵 sometimes the best healing (for me) comes for possibility and not action. This is one of those moments… I’m glad to hear it resonated!!
