@pat Thanks for sharing—I find myself right there with you, Pat. Trying to figure out how to navigate this new reality, and try (and fail) to hold space for my own values feels pretty hopeless at the moment. I find myself despairing particularly at the delighted enthusiasm friends and colleagues seem to have for this cursed and rapidly accelerating trajectory we seem to have chosen.

@plasticine yeah, I'm not sure if writing that post will give me an injection of patience for others - the enthusiasm from so many people I have respected for years is jarring.
But I know there's also plenty of us taking this other path - particularly here on Mastodon, and there's _some_ solace in that.
I'll probably share the post on LinkedIn at some point, I wonder what the reception will be like there…

@jessta @plasticine I guess having those conversations is a fast-tracked view into the ethics of a company? But yeah, to have your/our livelihoods contingent on such a requirement is a depressing state of affairs. Hoping you’re able to find a good place soon.
