Because the world needs another blog post about AI? ๐Ÿ™ƒ
    https://freelancing-gods.com/2026/02/14/ai-and-moral-injury

Mostly, a distillation of thoughts prompted by a range of other posts and musings, along with grappling with some feelings.

And thank you to those whose own writing contributed to my thinking - there's attribution to Krisztina Csapรณ, @henry, @paulca, @janl, and @Crell in my post, but plenty of offline conversations have helped too. โค๏ธ

@janl I feel like I checked with the last few letters of your surname while writing it out - but clearly, should have focused on the middle of the word. Sorry, fixed!

          And thank you. โ˜บ๏ธ

@pat well said. It's a very very very odd time.

@psdavey and yet, I suspect the oddness will increase! ๐Ÿ˜… (and thank you!)

@pat Thanks for sharingโ€”I find myself right there with you, Pat. Trying to figure out how to navigate this new reality, and try (and fail) to hold space for my own values feels pretty hopeless at the moment. I find myself despairing particularly at the delighted enthusiasm friends and colleagues seem to have for this cursed and rapidly accelerating trajectory we seem to have chosen.

@plasticine yeah, I'm not sure if writing that post will give me an injection of patience for others - the enthusiasm from so many people I have respected for years is jarring.

But I know there's also plenty of us taking this other path - particularly here on Mastodon, and there's _some_ solace in that.

I'll probably share the post on LinkedIn at some point, I wonder what the reception will be like thereโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜“

@jessta @plasticine I guess having those conversations is a fast-tracked view into the ethics of a company? But yeah, to have your/our livelihoods contingent on such a requirement is a depressing state of affairs. Hoping youโ€™re able to find a good place soon. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป
