@kerravonsen if it is still warm you can prick it and chug milk or cream or orange juice above it to rinse into the holes.

@kerravonsen Trifle, Tiramisu, and Tres Leches are all based on the idea of soaking a cake with some flavourful liquid so some sort of variation on that idea would probably work.
For a trifle I think either cherry or orange gelatin would work particularly well.
Tiramisu is already using cocoa powder and coffee so chocolate cake would probably fit right in.
Tres leches I could also see working with chocolate cake.
