    @ApostateEnglishman @benroyce @mloxton @TheBreadmonkey @overholt

    I didn't have the courage to get a sleeve length tattoo until I was in my 50s. I had a series of incredibly traumatic events happen in sequence, and as I was trying to put all the pieces back together, I looked at the art I'd had on my office wall for years while I doddled and hemmed and hawed about getting a piece that big. It's one of my favorite arts that I've done, and one day I took it off the wall, called my friend who owns a shop and said "I'm getting a tattoo today. Do you want to do it, or am I forced to let amateurs lay hands on me where you can see it?"

    It took 6-8 hours, I had to get up and walk around a couple of times, but it's gorgeous. The looks I get sometimes though, standing there looking all senior executive consultant, then I push my sleeves up and it's serpents and moons and torches and keys and spears. Heh.

          @courtcan @MissConstrue @benroyce @mloxton @TheBreadmonkey @overholt A fleck of something on my phone screen made that look like "4.5" which made me think (for a split second), "That's very young. Is that even legal anywhere?! But also oddly precise...". 😆🤔

            i've always been confused as to if the ancient aliens that helped the maya are the same ancient aliens that helped the egyptians

            @benroyce @tantramar @mina @Bugspriet @MissConstrue @TheBreadmonkey @overholt I think positing *two* alien space faring civilizations with a pyramid fetish is going to fall afoul of Occam's razor.

              yeah but William of Ockham who came up with Occam's Razor was an alien themselves. they implanted the idea of Occam's Razor in your head to cover it all up

                    you're not alone john, you're not alone

                    we are old

                    "born in the 1900s" is apparently ancient now. this poor dad just driving his kids to school gets absolutely roasted for it:
