Whenever you hear "ban for kids" on the internet, read in reality "ID collection by a sketchy third-party company that will definitely use it or leak it or both for every adult."

Because that's what this truly means.
Also, it doesn't even help the kids.

@Em0nM4stodon Ban roblox. Then I might believe you actually care about the kids.

What I find baffling, is that people on a global scale, do not go on the streets, literally march on the streets, to tell their governments that this totalitarian movement on a global level needs to stop, otherwise we will stop the governments...

@Em0nM4stodon Beyond not helping kids, it actively hurts them. It makes it so the only stuff they can access on the internet is the worst drivel.

              @Em0nM4stodon @PeachMcD

I'm thinking this is a meme that goes back to the 1950s, at least.

"Won't someone think of the CHILDREN??!?!?"

@dalias @Em0nM4stodon it feels like the worst and biggest sites on the Internet will be implementing this bullshit, potentially forcing kids to small Internet. And that’s a good thing.

There's a set of plug-n-play tools the #GOP has used for decades (at least) to distract people from what they're really doing
                  The Children
                  JOBS
                  The Troops
                  Women

They don't gaf about any of them, but they know we do & play us continually

This, to me, is exactly why we're stuck having this conversation again and again. Even if ID laws are repealed or rejected, for that to happen we still have to be the ones forced to explain why the bans are bad. Remember the Clipper Chip? It's so tiring.

@Em0nM4stodon I mean, terrorism was used as an excuse for mass surveillance. It's good that some people were concerned about the privacy implications but majority of the people didn't give a fuck.

Snowden was deemed a "spy" by the current US president back in fucking 2013 ! And I guess most people just tolerated that shit and now here we are, lol

There were some thoughts pardoning the guy recently but some people in power are opposed to it of course, lmao. I just got my info from Wikipedia.

The real terrorism is knowing an unknown entity has my personal information

@Em0nM4stodon As former kids, we should remember all the ways we effectively circumvented age restrictions placed on us. Kids ain't dumb.
