#WritersCoffeeClub May1 Workers' Day: What can we do to support and protect other writers, not only now, but in the future as well?

I like what everyone else is saying, but I want to dig in on one specific I haven't seen mentioned:

Listen to and support erotica writers. Especially authors of noncon and other 'bad' erotica. Both because they deserve our support in their own right, and because they are the canaries in our coal mine -- the people who want to control us and own us will go after them FIRST.

Multiple times over the past ten years I've seen indie erotica writers hit hard by major platforms. But rarely have I seen other writers take notice, much less speak up.

We are all in this together. Let's act like it.

@JessMahler I presume that "noncon" means non-consensual, i.e.rape. While I fully support anyone's right to write or read what they wish, I personally have a very hard time even witnessing the heavily sanitized sexual assault scenes on network TV. I simply would not be comfortable actively advocating for anything that glorifies rape. I'm sorry.
