It's not perfect, criticisms welcome, but it's closer than I ever thought I'd get. Check it out! @DavidGoldfield Need to fill in a few harmonics I've discovered, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

@upmultimedia Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I need to fill in a few harmonics, but it's well on the way. Also the rhythm is slightly off. But it sure is fun zooming in on!

#IMadeAThing! I've refined my #Dalek control room heartbeat sound effect, adding more harmonics, tweaking the reverb and speeding it up a bit. I'm really psyched to have been able to get as close as I have to such an iconic sound effect. Here's the original for reference. @Black_Flag I think one of the reasons I'm a sound designer is because I like Doctor Who. The classic era sound effects were brilliant! When you consider the humble origins of that sound and the tardis sound, you can't deny the genious behind them! ๐Ÿคฉ

@xogium The first version, I simply ear-balled, listening to the sound, picking out prominent harmonics and creating them with sine waves. I missed quite a few though. I combed through the original sound with a very narrow band pass filter to pick out what I missed and add it in.

@JustinMac84 Hahaha! So am I. I absolutely like the sounds the tardis make, all of them. I wonder how they were made.

And then that episode in the rebooted tv show of 2005 where you actually get the feeling of ยซย oh, shit" because you've just heard a weeping angel blowing out the candle Rory is holdingโ€ฆ It might not be sound design but it sure showed an attention to details.

@xogium I'm not a fan of the new series. I'm classic all the way myself, but I'm glad that the show is endearing itself to a new generation. The TARDIS sound was made, primarily, by someone scraping a door key along piano strings.
