Their voices had that combination of somewhat human-sounding with that odd, old time computer voice inflection that, to me, made them sound so frightening. The 1980s Cybermen did not sound emotionless to me. They sounded either angry, disgusted or like they were enjoying themselves. The new Cybermen sound like they're talking through a roll of toilet paper. The Nicholas Briggs Dalek voices, to me, are the best. They are menacing and absolutely frightening. Quite a bit of crap as well, but that's to be expected. Dalek Empire is my favourite of dalek stuff that they do. Cybermen are great. It's weird, if you look at cybermen objectively, I thinkk they're cooler and more sinister than daleks, but there's just something about daleks, something about their presentation that makes them awesome.

justinmac84@mastodon.social

Reply to I am psyched to have recreated the #dalek control room heartbeat sound, made in 1963 by Brian Hodgeson of the #BBC Radiophonic Workshop, this is an iconic sound, still used today, that I could not think how to recreate...until today. on Tue, 28 Apr 2026 16:42:56 GMT

@JustinMac84 @pixelate @xogium My first was the sirons of time.
