@MostlyTato Yes that is true. You need a bit of understanding how meadows work and are managed. Also many cheaper mixes just have a few common species and even worse some have aggressive grasses which take over. Also when sown onto normal garden soil it is difficult to make it work. I impoverished the soil and it shows now as everything stays quite small and delicate species have a chance.

This is my fourth year of successful winter sowing. In total 17 of 19 species successfully germinated. Seeds were collected from last year’s flowers, seed collection from local hillsides and seed collection from a nearby demonstration garden.
