The "ceasefire" was never a ceasefire. This should have been obvious from the absurdity of the terms, which clearly would never be acceptable to the US or Israel. It's bizarre and surreal to see so many media outlets and commentators taking it seriously even today. It doesn't make sense to publish articles debating the durability of the ceasefire when it was never a ceasefire, yet here we are. I can't pretend to know what's actually going on, but it's very clear the "ceasefire" is a pretext. I'd guess the US is buying time to make up for the failure to plan in advance adequately.
