It turns out that the world’s oldest, continuously operating universities aren't either Oxford or Bologna. The oldest is Al-Qarawiyyin University in Fes, Morocco (seen in this video), which was founded in 859 AD by a wealthy Muslim woman, Fatima al-Fihri. The second oldest is Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, founded in 970 AD.#Universities #Morocco #Egypt #History
