Lo fa con la sua Aprilia in una gara che era stata dominata da Pecco Bagnaia, ma che ha ceduto velocità nell’ultimo giro con lo spagnolo che lo ha passato e poi ha tenuto il mezzo giro finale nella Sprint del Gp degli Usa di MotoGp sul circuito di Austin. Terzo posto per Acosta, mentre sono caduti prima Bezzecchi e Marc Marquez e poi Di Giannantonio con Martin che sale in vetta al Mondiale. Lo stesso Martin nel giro di festeggiamento dopo aver tagliato il traguardo dopo una lunga impennata sul rettilineo a 200 all’ora ha messo giù la gomma anteriore ed è scivolato via senza nessuna conseguenza.Tornando alla gara al primo giro lo spagnolo Marc Marquez arriva lungo in curva e scivola via facendo cadere anche il poleman Di Giannantonio. Il romano prova a riprende la corsa ma poi è costretto al ritiro, mentre Bezzecchi cade in curva a 3 giri dalla fine e perde la prima posizione nella classifica piloti.
