On this day in November '24 I experienced a wide range of conditions. Up on the ridge it was sunny and warm with slushy snow on the trail. Down here in the valley, the cold had settled like a solid thing. I remember it suddenly washing over me, like diving into a pool, as I descended from slanted winter sun, into perpetual shadow. More than usual, being alone in such a place made me want to tread lightly, lest I disturb its guardian magics.#footpathfriday #pnw #hiking
