Lo dice il presidente della Regione Siciliana intervenendo con un messaggio video su Youtube per commentare il via libera da Bruxelles al piano regionale dei rifiuti e alla realizzazione dei due termovalorizzatori in Sicilia, in particolare a Palermo e a Catania.«Abbiamo lavorato a questo Piano, atteso da molti anni, dall’inizio della legislatura – ha aggiunto Schifani – anche con grandi resistenze da parte di chi aveva interesse a non scardinare l’attuale sistema. Oggi abbiamo il via libera da Bruxelles, che ci riempie di orgoglio per il buon lavoro svolto. Negli ultimi giorni il governo nazionale ha anche prorogato di tre anni il mio incarico da commissario straordinario: un segnale chiaro per proseguire su questa strada senza fermarci. Avremo due impianti moderni di termovalorizzazione, a Palermo e Catania, per chiudere finalmente il ciclo dei rifiuti tra differenziata, riuso ed energia.
