The genocide of Gaza is being expanded to Iran now. If you don't find war criminals guilty and remove them from power, they continue to commit war crimes. If the war criminals win, and the Iranian government falls, the war criminals will continue with further wars of aggression. No one in the world is safe. Each one of these 28 bombings is a war crime. @dougmerritt@mathstodon.xyz sociopathy may not be the right word, but I don't know what you call it when someone supports a war but steadfastly refuses to look at the images of the dead children, hear the voices of their survivors, or to empathize in any way with the victims from that war they are supporting. Of the very few people in my family who moved to the US permanently, my cousins in Los Angeles are the worst. They aren't technically "diaspora" but they have lived among the diaspora in L.A. for so long that they have been brainwashed by all of that pro-monarchy propaganda. @KennethBousquet@mastodon.social that is absolutely right. Revenge is not justice, it is just more violence. The only violence used here should be the arrest and imprisonment of the war criminals while they await trial for their crimes.

If you are confused about why Iran is attacking all of their neighbors, the reason is very simple: their neighbors are mostly being armed by the US anyways. So regardless of whether they attack a US carrier directly, or attack an air base in Kuwait or Bahrain, either way they are depleting the armaments of their attackers. They can also grind the economies of these US-friendly nations to a halt as everyone takes shelter, further harming the US and their ability to wage war. The goal is a war of attrition: make the US use up 10 missiles and drones for every one missile or drone the Iranians use. Make their neighbors question the logic of cooperating with the US. This strategy is very obvious, and very effective. There is no doubt in my mind that every single military advisor to Trump told him that this would be Iran's defense strategy. But try telling Trump or Hegseth that they aren't the smartest one in the room, you already know what Trump would say: "YOU'RE FIRED!" There is still always the nuclear option (literally). Although if you watched the interview with Colonel Douglas MacGregor I posted earlier, nuclear strikes might be enough to convince China and Russia to begin open hostilities against the US in the Middle East.
