2 At first, just hearing them, I thought it was woodpeckers, but they were sounding not quite right + they were staying high up in the trees (Pileated Woodpeckers spend a lot of time on the lower parts of trees) + I caught a glimpse of undersides as they flew + was seeing some reddish brown, not right for Pileated Woodpeckers.
