Referendum, Fazzolari stirs up fears after the No victory: “Judges will be even more intrusive.”The effect of the “No” victory is to legitimize a judicial action on a series of issues that are decisive for Italians today: we see that the government’s action is often slowed down on the issue of immigration and security due to decisions that the judiciary does not share and that could be reinforced in the future. This is one of the main concerns. Giovanbattista Fazzolari, a senator for Brothers of Italy and deputy minister to the Presidency of the Council, is raising alarms about an uncontrollable judiciary after the victory of the “No” vote in the referendum. “Italians are asking this government, but they would ask any government, for greater control of illegal immigration and to be more decisive in terms of security. So far, on these two issues, we have seen that many of the measures implemented are then weakened by decisions made by the judiciary: as a result of the referendum, the concern is that this action could become even more intrusive,” he told ANSA, the right-hand man of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.Fazzolari denies concerns about government approval ratings: “We are very serene because our horizon is not the next political elections, which we are rightly interested in, but respecting the commitments made in this legislature; we will not make choices aimed at maximizing consensus here in terms of policy; the action will be that of closing the legislature with the great merit of saying ‘we have respected our commitments,’ and then the Italians will judge. There is even greater determination to complete the program. Our hope,” he states, “is to make a great cultural revolution in Italy that has so far never been possible” – meaning “to complete the commitments made with the government program.” We presented ourselves to the elections with specific programmatic points, the ambition is to finish the legislature having completed the program.”The article “Referendum, Fazzolari raises alarms after the victory of the ‘No’: ‘Judges will be even more intrusive’ ” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano.#Fazzolari #Italians #BrothersofItaly #Council #GiorgiaMeloni #Italy #Referendum #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/03/23/referendum-fazzolari-magistrati-invasivi-governo-news/8334017/

A farce that repeats itself. Every time the government needs money, especially if it has to give it to citizens to face an emergency like the price hikes, the issue of a tax on excess profits always comes up. And this time, too, it’s proposed by the Vice President of the Council, Matteo Salvini. The leader’s idea is to tax what he calls the excess profits of energy companies: “We have taxed banks, we can also tax the excess profits of oil companies,” he says, also hypothesizing a “fiscal or regulatory” intervention against speculation. An intervention that seems necessary to face the price increases resulting from the war in Iran triggered by the government’s allies, namely the United States and Israel.Salvini launches the tax on excess profits against energy price hikesSalvini assures that the government is “ready to intervene against high fuel prices,” in the event of “speculative behavior by oil companies.” The Vice President of the Council has called for Wednesday “the main oil companies at the prefecture in Milan because the bill that families and businesses are paying is too high.”For Salvini, the increases, “especially of diesel,” are “unacceptable and excessive, even considering the ongoing conflict. If there is anyone speculating, as Minister of Transport – since I deal with it directly – I am not willing to tolerate it. A fiscal or regulatory intervention can also be made to avoid this speculation. We will see what proposals they bring on Wednesday: we have taxed banks, we can also tax excess profits of oil companies.”The fact is that, for the moment, confusion prevails in the government. An intervention should not arrive this week, but only towards the end of the month. In the meantime, the only certainty is that the executive excludes a reduction in excise duties, while it is thinking about other interventions against high fuel prices, but with targeted measures aimed at low-income households and some businesses. The article Expensive Energy, the Usual Bluff: Salvini Launches the Tax on Excess Profits appears first on LA NOTIZIA.#Salvini #Council #MatteoSalvini #theUnitedStates #Israel #Milan #ExpensiveEnergy #first #LANOTIZIA https://www.lanotiziagiornale.it/caro-energia-il-solito-bluff-salvini-rilancia-la-tassa-sugli-extraprofitti/
