CIRCLE WITH A DOT

My #gardening thumb has finally been activated. It only took 65 yrs & someone who had a vision for our front yard (from St Augustine grass to St Francis w/#California natives!), a lot of patience, & an ability to help me make a garden in #LA that spoke to my #Berkeley state of being. We call it The Let it Bee Zen Project; aka the anti-death cult project. Cultivating beauty (& I know how privileged I am to be able to do this) may not be an act of resistance but it's essential. #Bloomscrolling

I georeferenced a map, from the #Peralta Family Manuscripts held the #Oakland History Center. It's here in 300dpi, zoom-able. There is not much detail within its boundaries, but the homes of Victor Castro and Domingo and Vicente Peralta are where we'd expect. (Note, Vicente's home was near modern Vicente Way.) The road crossings at the border, and across #LakeMerritt all match modern roads.
