@anonymas Tinnitus is complex; it doesn't originate in the ear but in the brain. One cause can be deafness, as losing hearing makes tinnitus more noticeable. However, any inflammation affecting the brain, such as that seen in autoimmune diseases, can also increase tinnitus. It can also be exacerbated by auditory stress, such as listening to loud music or being in very noisy environments for extended periods, or by being hypersensitive, like many autistic people (and like me). I have all those problems at once. So when it's exacerbated by an antibody outbreak, stress, or a noisy environment, silence helps reduce that aspect of the tinnitus. At home, I have neighbors who make a lot of noise and have dogs that bark all day long, and sometimes that keeps me from sleeping or concentrating on anything.
