Okay, I am officially part of the cult called Heated Rivalry! It all started with Jacob Tierney's brilliant adaptation and now I am reading Rachel Reid's books. And it is GOLD. I can't believe that smut novels can bring such joy. Not because of the smut (although it is part of it). But because ultimately everything turns out fine. And because we see lovable characters developing into even better persons. Learning how to understand, how to express themselves, and ultimately – how to love. In the times of darkness we need this sunshine. 🫐🥤 In a lovely Instagram video Isabella Segalovic, an anti-authoritarian flok art historian, calls Jacob Tierney's show "an anti-fascist television program". And I can't agree more. Because what this story touches upon deeply into our souls is the lost empathy and the desensitization we suffer from everything that evil forces of MAGA/Heritage Foundation did in the past years not just to American society but around the world as well. Rachel Reed's book series is called "Game Changers" after the first book of the series, "Game Changer". Right now I am reading the third one, "Tough Guy", and it melts your heart from Chapter 1. Is it Dostoevsky? Or Thomas Mann? No. But it brings joy, and happy tears, and bursts of empathy chemicals to your brain! Queers deserve this happiness. Everyone deserves it.I am officially a cultist.
