That said the distribution and transmission fees as well as the city fees are not avoidable regardless of the provider. It is a good point to look at those too. The nice thing here is even if you sign you have tens days to cancel so any hidden details don't bite you.

@VintageEdmonton I think it was 1989 when I bought a pocket-sized #Atari #Portfolio to use as a notetaker in uni classes. My #arthritis was too severe to take notes by hand and typewriters were too heavy for me to lug around (plus too loud for anyone else in the room).I'm a touch-typist and even with that tiny chiclet keyboard could manage 40 wpm, which was adequate.It did freak out some professors as, unlike those with heads bowed scribbling notes, I could watch the prof the entire time without needing to look down. Fabulous little machine, ran on AA batteries. ️

@Paulatics As someone who has been a permanent resident in Canada after fleeing transphobia in the States for about a month and a half now, who is just waiting for IRCC to mail the card, C-12 scares the hell out of me. It single-handedly feels like it'll put me and hundreds, likely thousands of Americans hoping to soon call themselves Canadians in a fire after fleeing the frying pan. And I live in what seems to be one of the more accepting parts of Canada. I cannot imagine how your constituents in the same boat feel right now.I left America because the constant fear and dread of what will come for me next made it impossible for me to plan long term. "How do you apply for university or sign a mortgage for a house when you could lose the right to exist in public tomorrow" are exact words I heard from someone in a similar position to me when I left. If C-12 passes, I fear I will be asking myself the same questions as a permanent resident in Canada.

But still left me feeling uncomfortable.(And FTR I think it is important to know that our meat and dairy products ultimately come from real animals, which is why family meals with my kids involved discussing exactly that for every meal with meat. One downside? How many adults were annoyed with one kid who preferred the phrase "dead pig" over "pork" when asking for a favourite dish. ).
