I saw the movie The Woman King on CBC-Gem. Very good movie. Recommended. It's fiction, but inspired by the real life kingdom of Dahomey in Africa. So, curious, I checked out the entry on Dahomey in Wikipedia. And yeah, that entry made it clear how absolutely fictitious the movie is. It's heavily modified for present day cultural ethics. Regardless, it's a good movie to watch.https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_woman_kinghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahomey#movies #history #Africa #portugal

Nissan X-Trail, 25 years of history and over 8 million units sold worldwide. In 2026, Nissan X-Trail celebrates 25 years since its commercial launch. Introduced in 2001, the model is now in its fourth generation and has sold over 8 million units worldwide. Born as a compact SUV with off-road capabilities, it has evolved over time into a high-tech crossover, maintaining robustness and versatility as key features. The name reflects the model’s characteristics: “X” alludes to extreme activities, while “Trail” indicates the ability to tackle routes of varying difficulty. At its debut, Nissan presented it as an alternative to traditional all-wheel drive SUVs, focusing on lower consumption, improved handling, and a competitive price point.According to Shinchiro Irie, Program Design Director of the project, the simple and functional design has contributed to the model’s spread from the beginning, particularly among families and customers with an active lifestyle and an interest in outdoor activities.Over the four generations, X-Trail has solidified its presence in numerous international markets, achieving significant commercial results in Africa, Oceania, Asia, and South America. Starting with the third generation, the model was also introduced in the United States under the name Rogue, where it represents Nissan’s best-selling vehicle. The current generation integrates electrification solutions such as the e-POWER hybrid system and the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, alongside mild hybrid powertrains in some markets. Today, Nissan X-Trail is sold in 95 countries and continues to be one of the main models in the Japanese manufacturer’s global range. The article “Nissan X-Trail, 25 Years of History and Over 8 Million Units Sold Worldwide” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano.#NissanX-Trail #fourth #Nissan #ShinchiroIrie #Africa #Oceania #SouthAmerica #third #theUnitedStates #Rogue #Japanese #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/03/04/nissan-x-trail-25-anni-di-storia-e-oltre-8-milioni-di-unita-vendute-nel-mondo/8313651/

The Lumsa and Cuea universities are strengthening their partnership with a winter school in Kenya.AGI - Fourteen Italian students from the private Lumsa University traveled to Kenya to participate in a two-week special winter school, within the framework of a partnership with the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA). This initiative, spearheaded by the Lumsa University Center for Africa, led by diplomat Pietro Sebastiani, aims to promote the sharing of knowledge and collaboration with African countries engaged in new development models based on innovation and digital technologies. The on-site program included conferences, seminars, and exchanges with Kenyan students and professors, as well as activities outside of the classroom. These allowed participants to directly experience the social, entrepreneurial, diplomatic, cultural, and economic realities of Kenya, one of the most dynamic countries in the African continent.On-site, Professor Gennaro Iasevoli, Vice-Rector for Research and Internationalization, and Professor Plinio Limata, who supervised the group, were welcomed by Professor Damian M. Maingi, Deputy Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, Development and Promotion. Together, they discussed potential collaboration projects between the two universities. The students visited the popular neighborhoods of Nairobi, the new “smart city” of Konza – an important technological hub – as well as the Luigi Broglio Space Center in Malindi, which has become a reference in the development of the next generation of nanosatellites, CubeSats. The students also met the Italian Ambassador to Kenya, Vincenzo Del Monaco, the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) Fabio Minniti, and the Director of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) Giuseppe Manenti, as well as the Kenyan Ambassador to Italy, Fredrick Mattwanga’a. The students also exchanged with representatives of the Italian community in Kenya, entrepreneurs, as well as the Managing Director of Eni Kenya, Daniela Morra. The initiative also offers scholarships to African graduates (from Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia) to pursue master’s degrees at Lumsa, thus strengthening mutual exchanges.#Lumsa #Kenya #Italian #LumsaUniversity #Africa #PietroSebastiani #African #Kenyan #GennaroIasevoli #PlinioLimata #DamianMMaingi #Nairobi #Malindi #CubeSats #VincenzoDelMonaco #FabioMinniti #GiuseppeManenti #Italy #FredrickMattwanga’a #EniKenya #DanielaMorra #Ethiopia #Somalia https://www.agi.it/maeci/fr/news/2026-03-04/universites-lumsa-cuea-consolident-partenariat-ecole-hiver-kenya-35934906/
